    I am a third generation real estate salesperson who has held a variety of sales roles with Seiko Australia Pty Ltd, Reebok (NZ) Ltd and Holdfast Ltd before embarking on my real estate career in 2001. I worked for Ray White Hamilton as a salesperson and team leader from 2001-2009 and Lodge Real Estate, Flagstaff, Hamilton as Branch Manager 2009-2015. Lodge Flagstaff was the Number 1 office in August 2016 and Number 1 office for the quarter before my departure.     I can’t really say real estate was ever my chosen profession. 20 years ago I returned from overseas and bumped in to a client from my restaurant days. He owned a real estate company and said why don’t you come and sell real estate. I said you must be joking and 20 years later I’m still selling real estate. WHY? I actually really enjoy it – I have formed many wonderful friendships through my contacts with people searching for real estate. And if I have a strength (I have plenty of weaknesses) it is going the extra mile in trying to find the property that people are looking for. Often it may be a property the owners haven’t even thought of selling!!! It has to be said the real estate industry does not have the best of reputations. Sometimes the negative media attention is warranted, often it’s not. I think it is in our own best interest as real estate agents to be as honest as possible that is what I try to be. Married to a builder for over 25 years with a son who is training as an architect means I know about construction from the ground up ! My objective in life is to be of use, both to my family, my community and the planet we live on. Since arriving in New Zealand I have founded the NZ Steel Pan Academy to enable all sectors of my community to experience music without necessarily owning their own instruments.
