    I first started with Harcourts in Tairua on the Coromandel Peninsula around 1988. Moved to Australia in 1993 and after a number of years in the diving industry started working for Ray White Real Estate. While employed there studied and became a Licensed Real Estate Agent. After I gained my license I was offered a partnership at the Harcourt's office in Cleveland, south of Brisbane. AI spent three years there then took up the Harcourts Franchise in Noosa - Queensland with partner Jocelyn. We sold this business after two years and moved in the Retirement Village industry, starting in Devonport Tasmania. After two years there moved back to Gisborne (in 2007) where my partner currently manages Beetham Village, a lifestyle retirement complex of some 140 residents. When I was 18 years old I joined the New Zealand Fire Service as a professional firefighter and served some 30 years. In 1974 I gained my Diploma of Fire Engineering (from Gt Britain) and in the same year moved to New Plymouth where I took up a position of Station Officer, spending 10 years stationed here. During my 30 years of service I served in Gisborne (twice), Auckland & New Plymouth. I am a past President of the Rotary Club of Gisborne and was a member of Rotary in Noosa, Queensland and Devonport in Tasmania. Before joining Ray White Real Estate in Manly - Brisbane Australia I was the National Training Director for NAUI Australia where I was a Scuba Diving Instructor and also an Instructor Trainer, training divers to be Diving Instructors. I now spend my time between Gisborne, where I work casually for Beetham Village three days a week, and Wairoa where I work for Harcourt's Real Estate. During my work time at Harcourt's I live at Opoutama where my partner and I have a property, and when in Gisborne live at at Beetham Village.
