    A familiar face for years on our Pohutukawa Coast, Karen lives locally with her husband and three girls. She had the opportunity of joining the real estate industry back in the very early 2000’s and for many years has enjoyed the pleasure of meeting new people and enlightening them on the truly fantastic lifestyle on offer on our beautiful coast. Having worked over the years in our coastal area and the broader Eastern beaches/Howick areas, Karen brings experience and skills learnt in an extremely fast moving market while working alongside top pre-formers. A recent achievement of Karen’s is the sale of the Titoki Lanes sub-division sections in Beachlands, where she spear-headed 43 sections sales over a well implemented marketing plan including a buyers choice on-site auction which captured the watchful eye of the media with TV1, TV3 and Radio-live coverage on it. After years of successfully marketing and selling properties, her focus now is developing the local Harcourts office ensuring they offer an un-surpassed level of service, and supporting and growing her team of sales people, a role she takes seriously and one she has comfortably stepped into and thoroughly enjoys.

    My wife and young family came straight to Beachlands from Scotland over 6 years ago, a choice that was greatly aided by the directive powers of Google Earth ! Beachlands was the only place that fulfilled all the formulae of coast, beaches, leisure pursuits (golf and other sports), children-friendly and ease of travel (i.e. no congestion). The MacCullaich Clan recently became NZ citizens and we have another young one on the way adding to the current Skiwi balance of 3 siblings, the last one being born a mere 18 months ago at the time of writing. Having left a national managerial role that led the UK development interests of Europe’s largest renewable energy generation company, with annual revenue matching a small country, I have no regrets. Indeed, although living in NZ has meant a reinvention of ourselves as a family and careers we completely believe it has to be worth it in order to live in a place that is as close as one can get to utopia on earth … well, certainly warmer than Scotland if nothing else !! To date I’ve had a mixed bag 40-year career of music, environmental science, property investment, and business management/development; real estate is an interesting extension of that journey. I’ve always held onto two particulars core pillars in successful business, that is integrity and ingenuity; the former keeps you grounded and the latter pushes boundaries - keeping ahead of the opposition, delivering what society always looks for i.e. improvement.
